I made the above queen sized bedquilt in 1994-1995 for my father. It was my first commission and was made to match the decor of his new home when he moved to Arizona.
My dad was always very supportive of my art work and this quilt ended up a couple of inches too large so he just put his bed up on blocks to make it work. This is what my dad did, he was always able to just make things work.
This morning my father passed away after a year long battle with cancer. I was able to visit him several times over the year and for that I will always be grateful. It is a relief his suffering is over but he will be missed tremendously as he was an amazing person.
