The End of Structures
In 2000 I made the first artwork in what became my longest running series of textile paintings. Inspired by fences and walls, the Structures series explored the relationship between barriers and connection, and mostly found disconnection.
After completing the 170th composition in 2014 I abandoned the series in favor of landscapes and love in New Zealand.
Feeling a sense of in-completion I decided to close out the series in 2016 with an even 200 artworks.
Upcoming Exhibit at Spark Gallery In Denver, Colorado
In Restructuring, I will share the final 30 compositions of the series, each one a remake of one of the first 30 works of the series, bringing the original ideas up to date in my current style of thin lines and extensive contrasting stitching.
