What’s up?
Certainly blogging and communicating with the outside world have been on short supply in my world the last couple of months.
The three exhibitions in July and August were fabulously successful. (more on them later as I get back into the blogging groove again – I have a video from the two person show to share with you.)
After the last show [and hours and hours of driving up and down the country to deliver work, pick up work,do the shows, etc..] I came home and rested.
Well not really – in September two of my long running classes started so I had marketing to do and websites to set up.
And then I rested.
And then in October I remodeled my office – new paint, new shelves, desk. Once I get it populated with arty goodness I’ll take you on a tour of the new space.
It’s been an amazing year so far.
We had our final mastermind call for the MakeBigArt Incubator and Mastermind a couple of days ago and in reviewing the first 10 months of the year it was obvious why I needed a rest.
But I’m back! It’s November – there are 2 months remaining of the year and I have some big plans.
Top of the list is staying home. I’ve had enough travel for the year.
Second on the list is to focus on a new art project – with a working title of “noise.”
I’m using my handdyed fabric scraps from the last 15+ years to make something. Not exactly sure what but I’ll sort it out as I go.
In the meantime I’m making little piles of trash.
And heaps of little color studies. Right now I’m thinking about making 5000 but maybe I’ll make more.
It’s incredibly fun to do this work. I’m not thinking about where and when I might exhibit or sell it. I’m simply enjoying the making process.
