Cutting and Piecing Without a Ruler

Trying to figure out how to cut and piece the cool design you have in mind?

You know it can be done but don’t know how. You don’t want to use applique but you aren’t sure how to translate the composition into something that will capture the expression you have in mind.

You don’t want to create a pattern (ugh – how very slow and tedious) but instead want your creativity to shine and to use techniques that are fun and will inspire you.

I can help. I call it intentional piecing.

Are you ready to experience the creativity that is possible when you hide your ruler and forget the rules?

Course Description

If you can draw it. You can piece it.

In my one and only quilt-making technique online workshop, you will learn how to make original fabric compositions using a method I describe as intentional piecing.

Using your rotary cutter – (no rulers allowed!) – you will learn how to take most any design and translate it into a pieced textile composition.

The focus of this workshop will be on techniques where each piece of the composition is cut individually with intention. In other words, we won’t be doing any strip piecing.

This is a technique class. We will discuss design and color but the focus is on construction techniques. My later workshops go into design elements and principles in more detail.

Level – beginner to intermediate.

“The online workshop format worked out well for me.The structure of the class website allowed me to see everyone class work and Lisa’s reviews when I wished to do so.

I appreciated that Lisa was always available-just like in an in person workshop.

I also appreciated I had all my supplies, not just a kit I packed, but everything around me while working on the assignments.”
