About the series

I’ve named the textile paintings inspired by my trip to South Africa, Dream, as the overwhelming feeling that struck me during my month travel was the beautiful spirit of the country.

Yes, there are some serious challenges ahead, but the what I felt most was hope and opportunity. It appeared to me the people in South Africa are dreaming about a future while also healing from a difficult past.

On a more personal level, the trip to South Africa was a dream come true to be able to travel for a month and enjoy the people, cultures and landscapes of South Africa.
