About the Series
My focus, while on a recent yoga retreat in Costa Rica, was to slow down and just Be. Not Do. Through this stillness came a deep appreciation for the landscape, energy and colors of the country.
Focusing on simplicity, in an attempt to capture the pure essence of the experience, these textile paintings span the range from realism to abstraction.
To honor the decelerated pace of the week, most of the textile paintings in this series are hand stitched.
